The budget for activities of the pilot model is from KOPIA. Specifically, the project will support expense to build pilot model to grow new plants of Korea and Vietnam; supporting all expenses on training, breeding and necessary materials.

Under the cooperation program between Vietnam and Korea, in the winter harvest of 2012, Dong Trieu district carried out the model of 1ha growing 7 kinds of plants in Dong Phet village, Nguyen Hue commune. The result showed that the plant breeding of Korea had good quality, is suitable with the land of the locality and brings high income for farmers.

In winter of this year, in addition to carry out the model of 1ha growing 10 kinds of plants of Korea, Dong Trieu district will also grow Vietnam’s plant breeds to compare the growth process and yield between the plant breeds of the two countries.

The project will be carried out from September 2013 to February 2014.

KOPIA, which is run by the Rural Development Administration (RDA) of Korea, was launched in 2009 to help integrate agricultural projects in a more systematic way. The RDA established KOPIA centers in six nations of Vietnam, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Kenya, Brazil, and Paraguay in 2009./.
