(CPV) – The Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee on October 19 kicked off the construction of a road connecting Ha Long city to Bach Dang bridge.
The project is part of the highway connecting Ha Long city to the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway. The major investor is Vietnam’s How Yu Company.
The road, capitalised with more than VND5.8 trillion, is 19.8 kilometers in length and 25.5 meters in width. It will have four lanes and support traffic speeds of 100 kilometers per hour. Eight bridges with load HL93 will be built on the road.
According to the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, the road will play a significant role in linking to the Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh economic triangle. Once completed, it will provide strategic motive power for the province’s socio-economic development, as well as promoting the socio-economic development of the North Vietnam’s major economic region and the Red River delta.
The highway connecting Ha Long city to the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway is expected to be put into use by 2016./.
