Vinacomin congratulates Quang Ninh province on 50th year

On October 30, Pham Minh Chinh, Secretary of the Quang Ninh provinical Party Committee, received leaders from the Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) who came to congratulate provincial leaders on the occasion of the 50th year of the province’s establishment (30 October 1963 – 30 October 2013).

According to Le Minh Chuan, Vinacomin General Director, the group is undergoing the restructuring process based on the Government’s decision and adjusting the development strategy to make it more sustainable, ensuring the efficiency of coal exploitation and production, together with protecting the environment and preserving the natural scenery at production areas.

He pledged to obey local policies, adding that he hoped to continue to receive assistance from the province in the upcoming time.

During the reception, Pham Minh Chinh thanked the group for its congratulation on the 50th year of establishment, stressing that the establishment and development of the province had always been combined with the development of the coal industry.

According to Mr. Chinh, at present, the coal industry contributes one third of the province’s GDP, while the number of cadres, staff and families in the industry accounts for one third of the province’s population.

Therefore, he suggested that the group should implement efficiently the coordination mechanism between the province and the group, especially in protecting the environment, training human resources, creating jobs, stabilising workers’ lives, and preventing illegal coal exploitation.

He confirmed that the province would always create favourable conditions for the group’s development, and go side by side with the group to overcome difficulties and develop more rapidly./.
