Southern province assists Co To power project with VND1 billion

The Party Committee of the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau has sent an official dispatch to Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee on providing capital for the project to bring power to Co To Island.

Earlier, Quang Ninh province sent an appeal calling on Ba Ria – Vung Tau province to donate capital for the project.

The project, constructed with a total capital of VND1.1 trillion, was officially completed and connected to the national power grid in mid-October.

The project is the first of its kind in Vietnam, with about 30 kilometres of cables running on the seabed at depths of up to 30 metres.

It was said to mark a step forward in improving the living conditions of disadvantaged islanders, thus boosting the island’s socio-economic development, and contributing to defending the national sea and islands./.
