Project on cardiovascular satellite hospital in Quang Ninh province

With a total investment of VND73 billion, the project will help to establish a cardiovascular unit under the provincial hospital to implement techniques, train and transfer consultancy techniques, and provide distance health treatment by telemedicine.

The project aims to improve the capacity to provide cardiovascular health treatment to local people, raising the quality of health services, contributing to easing the current severe overload at leading hospitals.

Vice chairwoman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee Vu Thi Thu Thuy asked the provincial department of health to establish the project building committee; make period reports to the provincial People’s Committee; and direct hospitals and medical establishments in the locality to choose suitable medical workers to take further training. She also asked Bach Mai Hospital to strengthen support for provincial human resources and techniques in cardiovascular diagnose and surgery.

According to Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, the project on building satellite hospitals in the 2013-2015 period, designated to ease hospital overcrowding, is one of the key tasks for the health sector. Accordingly, it is hoped that in the next three years, satellite hospitals will be able to conduct high-tech operations, while the capacity of health workers will be improved significantly./.
