Nearly VND1 billion to support storm victims in northern district

To support families in Ba Che district, the northern province of Quang Ninh, to overcome the consequences of Storm Haiyan, the provincial Fatherland Front has granted VND950 million to the district.

The money will be used to help families whose houses were destroyed during the storm.

Nguyen Ngoc Minh, President of the provincial Fatherland Front, showed his sympathy with the families, asking the district to promptly carry out measures to support affected people, and realise policies to support families to help them stabilise their lives and resume production, especially for beneficiaries’ and poor families.

Storm Haiyan caused losses of over VND20 billion in Ba Che district, with 38 houses totally destroyed, 11 houses damaged, 391 houses with roof damage, 9 irrigation and water supply constructions seriously damaged, 3,600 hectares of industrial trees, 28 hectares of crops and 10 hectares of sugarcane ruined, and thousands of poultry killed./.
