Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee works with economic groups

On December 3, Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, chaired a meeting with Australia’s ISC group and Tuan Chau group to hear their design ideas for a high-class tourism complex, including a casino, in Van Don economic zone in Van Don district.

According to Bruce Henderson, President of the ISC Group, the project will be carried out in 8 phases, including building the casino area and marina, residential areas, and high class hotels suitable with the scenery of Van Don district. In addition, the building of infrastructure links with airports and ports would follow their experience gained during the implementation of other international projects.

He added that the project would be built on an area of 2,000 hectares in Van Yen commune with a total capital of USD7 billion.

During the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee praised the cooperation of ISC group in investing in the project, asking the ISC and Tuan Chau groups to promptly complete the general design of the project and submit it to the provincial People’s Committee.

He also requested the two groups to view the planning document adopted by the Prime Minister for Van Don district and surrounding localities to avoid overlapping design.

Investors then could propose their investment methods and demonstrate their financial ability, he went on to say./.
