During the meeting, the provincial Party Committee secretary welcomed the two groups to study investment opportunities in the province, saying that he hoped to develop high ranking sea and island tourism products, including hotels, restaurants, golf courses, parks, recreation centres, and international centres for conventions and workshops.

He stressed that the province is now carrying out diverse large-scale projects, including building an airport in Van Don district and a national road linking many provinces and cities. In addition, the province had accelerated administrative procedure reform to attract investors. “Therefore, the province is willing to address any issues relating to mechanisms and policies most rapidly during the cooperation implementation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Doc, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, gave a general introduction on the province’s socio-economic development situation in 2013 and its development orientations for the years to come.

He appraised the cooperation of the two groups with the province, including investment on Tuan Chau Island.

Speaking during the meeting, Bruce Henderson, ISC Group President and Dao Hong Tuyen, Tuan Chau Group President, said they were impressed by the potential, strength and rapid and strong development of the province.

Over the past two years, the ISC Group has been working on a complex recreation project on Tuan Chau Island, Ha Long City, with a total capital of USD7.5 billion. Therefore, the ISC and Tuan Chau Groups representatives said they hoped that the province and the Vietnamese Government would allow them to carry out such a project in Van Don district in the earliest time.

Chairman Nguyen Van Doc confirmed that the province would create the best conditions for domestic and foreign enterprises to invest in the province./.
