On January 20, Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, had a working meeting with Ambassador - Head of European Union (EU) Delegation in Vietnam Franz Jessen.

During the meeting, Mr. Thanh informed the delegation of the province’s socio-economic development as well as foreign investment attraction policies of the province.
He stressed that over the past years, besides the efforts to overcome difficulties in socio-economic development, in international integration, the province attached great importance to expanding trade and investment cooperation with countries and territories around the world.
Therefore, there have been positive changes in the trade, investment, cultural, educational, national defence and security activities of the province.
He said he hoped that with their experience and hi-tech standards, management and operation, EU member states would support and cooperate with the province in developing the infrastructure, addressing environmental problems, and efficiently exploiting the existing potentials of the province.
The provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman suggested the Ambassador should introduce the province with EU countries, thus increasing the cooperation and relations between the province and EU member states in all areas.
Ambassador - Head of EU delegation Franz Jessen thanked the province for its warm welcome, congratulating it on the achievements and progress that Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh province in particular have gained over the past years.
He noted that cooperation in trade, tourism, education and training could be increased, adding that he hoped Quang Ninh province would effectively carry out programs of common concern.
During the visit, the working delegation will conduct a survey to Mong Cai city to study the potential for trade, service and tourism investment and cooperation./.
