Tree planting festival launched in Dong Trieu district

On February 6 (the 7^th day of the first lunar month), Dong Trieu district in the northern province of Quang Ninh launched a tree planting festival on the occasion of the lunar new year.

Over the past years, whenever the spring comes, people and cadres in Dong Trieu district have been active in planting trees for afforestation. Tens of thousands of fruit trees, timbers and trees for watershed and dyke protection have been planted, contributing to increasing forestland, creating shade in public, streets, villages, offices and schools in the district. Hence, local people have improved awareness of protecting forest, improving the environment, and creating clean and beautiful scenery.

After the launching ceremony, the district planted 60 Osaka trees in front of Sinh temple, An Sinh commune./.
