Quang Ninh to have VND7.5 trillion airport

The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has approved a feasibility study report for Quang Ninh Airport under BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) scheme.

The airport will cover 288.3 hectares in Doan Ket commune under Van Don Economic zone. It will have runaways with capacity to manage the take-off and landing of Boeing 777, or equivalent sized aircraft and four parking areas for two Airbus 321 and two Boeing 777.

Quang Ninh airport will own a 17,650 square meter terminal with a capacity of 2 million passengers a year, in which contains a cargo terminal with a minimum capacity of 10,000 tonnes a year.

The project has a total capital of nearly VND7.5 trillion, including over VND5.25 trillion for building and equipment and VND734 billion for premise clearance.

Currently, Joinus Vietnam, Posco E&C and the Republic of Korea Airport Corporation are investors who are pursuing the construction of the airport. As calculated, capital refund for the airport will be within 45 years./.
