Nearly VND2 billion to support disabled people and orphans

Nearly VND2 billion was raised during the launch ceremony of the program entitled “Joining humanitarian arms for disabled people and orphans in Quang Ninh province, held on April 17^th in Ha Long city.

The annually held program received effective support from a number of different agencies, organizations and individuals in an attempt to assist the lives of disabled and disadvantaged children, as well as poor people.

In 2014, the provincial association in support of handicapped and orphaned children encouraged 190 agencies and individuals to donate money and goods worth over VND1.6 billion, assisting nearly 1,400 disabled people and orphans mitigate the difficulties in lives.

Addressing the launch of the program for 2015, Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee suggested organizations, agencies and individuals create more favourable conditions for disabled people and orphans to join educational and production activities, thus increasing their quality of live and potentially improving their earnings./.
