Ha Long city installs 107 free wifi points

So far, the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group in Quang Ninh province (VNPT Quang Ninh) has collaborated with the Department of Information and Communications and Ha Long city to install 107 points to provide free wifi at tourism and public sites such as the Clock Tower, October 30^th Square, Ha Long 1 market, Ha Long 2 market, provincial convention centre, some points at Bai Chay Tourist Area and along the way to Tuan Chau Tourism Area.

The coverage of wifi has brought convenience to people and visitors when they come to Ha Long city in National Tourism Year 2018.

"Currently, many people use smart phones so it is very good to have free wifi. It is very convenient for visitors to look up tourism information as well as restaurants, hotels, transportation and entertainment sites,” said a visitor from Lao Cai.

According to the VNPT Quang Ninh, the maximum transmission speed for each spot is 100Mbps, which can meet the demand for access to information and entertainment of hundreds of people at the same time on smart devices and laptops.

"From 2019, we will coordinate with the Department of Information and Communications to submit to the provincial People's Committee to install more free wifi points at entertainment and public areas, especially Highway 18 through Ha Long city," emphasized Mr. Pham Van Phuc, Deputy Director of VNPT Quang Ninh.

Since March 2017, many destinations in Ha Long Bay have been provided free wifi to serve tourists./.
