Striving to enhance healthcare services quality, Quang Ninh General Hospital has been investing in advanced technologies. This newly acquired scanner is the hospital’s next effort to deliver better patient outcomes.
“Investment in innovative equipment and capacity building to master these tools is our priority. We expect the CT scanner 512 slices to be our leap toward higher level of diagnostic capabilities”, said Dr Trinh Van Manh, Director of Quang Ninh General Hospital.
According to representative from the Vietnam Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, CT multi-slice technology plays an important role in the diagnosis and monitoring of a wide range of symptoms and diseases including heart diseases. Designed with revolutionary snapshot capability as well as the 16 cm of detector coverage, Revolution CT delivers high quality images for early diagnosis of heart diseases which helps clinicians decide the right treatment path for patients.
The 512-slices CT scanner integrates software that gives 82% dose reduction compared to traditional methods, thus allowing the assessment of both the morphology and myocardial perfusion in one shot. Especially, the results help accurately assess the area of the brain that can be saved from stroke, and provide effective chemotherapy in cancer.
“GE Healthcare believes that applying the new high-performance GE CT scanner with various medical benefits in cardiac diagnosis will give the clinicians of Quang Ninh General Hospital a solution for improving image quality, contributing to the higher accuracy in diagnosis and treatment”, shared Ms Sharon Tan, Product Marketing Leader for GE Healthcare ASEAN./.
