The small-sized chamber takes 30 seconds to complete a round of full-body disinfection, ensuring safety for employees before entering their workplace. It uses ionized salt water and has 360-degree fog mist sprayer and an infrared sensor that automatically activates the spraying when a person steps in. Each chamber costs VND25 million.
“Due to complicated development of the COVID-19 epidemic, Nam Mau Coal Company has implemented a number of measures to protect laborers’ safety. We have designed, produced and put into use two mobile full-body disinfection chambers,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Secretary of the Nam Mau Coal Company’s Youth Union.
“The successful production of the chamber aims to mark the 89th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26th). It also reflects our determination to accompany the government of Vietnam, the coal industry, and Quang Ninh province to push back the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.

During the Covid-19 outbreak, Nam Mau Coal Company has proactively undertaken preventive measures against the disease such as spraying disinfectant at offices and coal mines, providing labourers with face masks and hand sanitizer gel, and checking body temperature for workers prior to each production shift.
In addition, hygiene work has been paid more attention and the quality of meals has been further improved. Communications activities on COVID-19 prevention and control among labourers are enhanced.
The successful production of the mobile disinfection chamber of the Nam Mau Coal Company’s Youth Union plays an important role in the current context, contributing to joining hands with the community to fight against the disease and helping protect employees’ health./.
