First bus route through Thu Thiem tunnel to be launched

Ho Chi Minh city will launch the first bus route through Thu Thiem tunnel which was designed to cross the Sai Gon river from October 1st, reported the municipal Department of Transport.

Accordingly, the bus route will connect to Vo Van Kiet boulevard, then run to Mai Chi Tho, Tran Nao and Luong Dinh Cua streets and Thao Dien area in district 2 and vice versa.
The total length of the route is 16 kilometres with 120 trips scheduled on a daily basis 40-seat bus. The first bus will depart at 05:50 am and the last will run at 08:00 pm.
The launch of the bus route aims to reduce overload on the Sai Gon bridge, especially at rush hours./.
