An image of the Golden bridge at Sun World Ba Na Hills in Da Nang, Vietnam, has been named among the 124 best travel photos of 2018 by the US-based Cable News Network (CNN).
The Golden bridge
CNN said the 150-meter-long Golden bridge rises above Truong Son Mountains. It's supported by a pair of giant hands which may look weathered, but the bridge opened only in June 2018.
The New York Times described: “In the mountains of central Vietnam, a colossal pair of hands lifts a golden thread of walkway high above the cliff-tops, as if the mountain itself has sprouted limbs.” A BBC caption said, “Vietnam bridge: Walking through a god's hands”. Bored Panda said it looks like something from “Lord of the Rings”, while the Huffington Post called it “the coolest bridge ever”.
It has been named on The Guardian’s list of most striking pedestrian bridges and the Independent’s top 10 most incredible bridges.
Together with Golden Bridge, other impressive photos which make the CNN list include Munich (Germany), Xinjiang (China), Wallops Island (Virginia), Volcán de Fuego (Guatemala), Valley of the Gods (Utah), Yerevan (Armenia), New Delhi (India), Dhaka (Bangladesh), Uji (Japan), and Paris (France).
This is not the first time the Golden Bridge has won renown from global news agencies and organizations. Earlier, in August, Times Magazine named the bridge among its world’s best destinations, while AFP also voted Golden bridge as one of Top 106 photos of 2018. Recently, Reuters has called the bridge among the top odd and unusual photos of 2018./.
