Quang Ninh has decided to cut accommodation fees by 50% for travelers staying on Ha Long Bay.

Accordingly, from July 10th to the end of September 2020, all travelers staying overnight on the bay will receive discounts from VND590,000 to VND295,000 a person.
The policy is expected to attract more domestic and foreign tourists to the world’s natural wonder.
Ha Long Bay now has nearly 190 ships with more than 2,000 rooms which are served by over 2,000 direct workers.
Due to effects of the COVID-19 epidemic, the number of tourists to the bay decreased sharply in the first half of the year, with over 150,000; equivalent to 36% of the same period last year. Average room occupancy only reached 19% while total investment in ships is valued about VND2 trillion.
However, tourist arrivals to Quang Ninh recovered in May and June. Tourists to the bay numbered 7,000 a day and the figure rose to 26,000 on weekends. From May 15th to June 30th, nearly 345,000 tourists traveled to the bay./.
