(CPV) - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will add more flights during the peak period of the National Day holiday from August 30 to September 4 in order to meet the increasing travel demand of passengers.

Accordingly, the total number of seats provided on the entire domestic and international network during the period is approximately half a million seats, equivalent to nearly 2,500 flights.

The carrier will focus on increasing flight frequency on domestic routes between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, Da Lat, Cam Ranh; and between Ho Chi Minh City and Hue, Phu Quoc. The total number of domestic seats will reach 330,000, equivalent to more than 1,700 flights, an increase of more than 19% over the same period in 2023.

The international routes between Vietnam and India, China, Thailand, and Australia will have the most additional flights. The total number of international seats will reach over 150,000 seats, equivalent to more than 650 flights, a slight increase compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam Airlines recorded that key domestic tourist routes were nearly 50% full while international routes to India, China, Thailand and Australia also achieved positive results with occupancy rates from 50% to 70%.

Ensuring the supply capacity during the peak period of the National Day holiday is a great effort of Vietnam Airlines in the context of the aviation industry lacking aircraft due to the impact of manufacturers recalling engines for inspections globally. In recent months, the carrier has received one more Airbus A320neo aircraft and one Boeing 787-10 aircraft to enhance service for passengers’ travel needs.

For a smooth trip, Vietnam Airlines recommends that passengers book tickets earlier than the expected departure date to have more flight options and increase the possibility of attractive ticket prices./.
