Cat Bi International Airport plans to greet 3 million passengers a year by 2025

The Ministry of Transport has signed and issued Decision 2117/QD-BGTVT approving the adjustment of the master plan of Cat Bi International Airport towards 2025. The decision takes effect immediately.

According to the adjustment, the Cat Bi Airport plan until 2025 will continue to maintain T1 passenger terminal with a capacity of 2 million passengers a year, study and expand T1 passenger terminal to reach a capacity of 3 million passengers a year.

The T2 passenger terminal will have a designed capacity of 5 million passengers a year and reserve land to be expanded in the next period.

The technical area of the T2 passenger terminal is planned for a general location in the technical area of the existing T1 terminal or underground in the T2 terminal area.

Regarding the traffic plan, Le Hong Phong Street will be used as the main trunk road connecting with the passenger terminal, synchronously building the viaduct to the 2nd floor together with the T2 passenger terminal.

Other contents remain the same as Decision 1232/QD-TTg dated September 7, 2012 and Decision 1994/QD-TTg dated November 3, 2014 of the Prime Minister.
