Da Lat Station was built from 1932 to 1938, at an altitude of more than 1,500m above sea level. In the past, this was a junction station on the railway connecting Phan Rang City - Thap Cham (the southern province of Ninh Thuan) with Da Lat City.

Da Lat Railway Station has indigenous architecture with the architectural bloc in the middle simulating the three peaks of Langbiang Mountain and the communal roofs of the Central Highlands. This is also the only train station in the Central Highlands region. With harmonious architectural values, in 2001, Da Lat Railway Station was recognized as a national historical-cultural relic.

Currently, Da Lat Railway Station is only used for tourism in the city. On the old railway line, a train route about 7km long is now maintained, taking tourists from Da Lat to Trai Mat (both day and night).

The recognition is expected to help Da Lat Railway Station gradually improve its landscape, continuing to become a favorite place for domestic and foreign tourists when visiting Da Lat.

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railway Corporation, said that the firm will hire a consulting unit to develop a master plan for infrastructure investment to serve tourists at Da Lat Railway Station.

It will develop a project for entrance fees to the tourist destination at new prices from October 1, 2024./.
