Da Nang strengthens tourism promotion to Malaysian market

The Da Nang Tourism Development Promotion Fund on August 27 coordinated with the City Department of Tourism to organize a program introducing Da Nang tourism in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event aims to strengthen the promotion of Da Nang tourism into the Malaysian market, creating opportunities for Da Nang tourism businesses to connect with Malaysian partners.

The event was attended by ten tourism businesses in Da Nang and the central coastal region, including Sun Group, Vingroup (Vinpearl Joint Stock Company), Vietnam Travelmart Joint Stock Company, Viet Pilgrim Company Limited, Hoiana Resort & Golf, Visit Indochina, Wyndham Danang Golden Bay, Viet Pilgrim, Asian Companion Travel, Da Nang Dreamtrip and Peony Edu Travel.

They will provide product packages and connect with nearly 100 partners who are major travel companies in Malaysia.

In particular, within the framework of the program, Malaysia Airlines announced a plan to operate the Kuala Lumpur-Da Nang route on September 24 with a frequency of seven flights a week, bringing the total number of carriers operating the Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang route to three (Air Asia, Batik Air and Malaysia Airlines) with a frequency of 28 flights a week.

Malaysia has always been in the top ten international tourist markets to Da Nang and has had impressive growth. In 2016, 26,787 Malaysian visitors visited Da Nang, but by 2019, the figure tripled to 88,583. In the first seven months of 2024, 75,067 Malaysian visitors visited Da Nang, almost reaching the level of the whole year of 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic./.
