Doctor Yersin’s workplace on Hon Ba Peak to open before April 30

The relic of scholar Yersin's working house on the top of Hon Ba Mmountain is over 1,500m high, built with wood in 1914 with 2 floors. After not being used, the building degraded and was damaged, leaving only traces of the original foundation. By 2005, the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee rebuilt a new house on the old foundation with the same architecture, design and materials as the previous house. It was recognized as a National Historical Site in March 2023.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dao, representative of Western Pacific Investment and Tourism Joint Stock Company, said that the survey showed that the need to experience and learn from reality is gradually increasing compared to simple relaxation. Many schools, companies and organizations are aiming at practical experiential activities from nature; thus the demand for experiential tourism is also growing strongly.

In Khanh Hoa, a special tour “Following Doctor Yersin's footsteps” received much attention from tourists. This journey will be even more attractive when the location of Dr. Yersin's office on Hon Ba peak is completed and welcomes tourists.

Earlier, in February 2024, the Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee allowed a pilot visit to Dr. Yersin's office after a long period of not being exploited. Because the monument shows signs of deterioration and its facilities have not been completed, businesses are allowed to carry out projects to preserve, repair and restore the monument./.
