Hanoi greets 2.37 million tourist arrivals in May

Of which, international tourist arrivals reached 496,500, a year-on-year increase of 46.7%.

Total revenue from tourists posted more than 9.19 trillion VND, a year-on-year rise of 23.6%.

Since the beginning of the year, tourist arrivals to Hanoi totaled 11.55 million, a year-on-year increase of 14%; in which foreign tourists numbered 2.64 million, up 51.9%, while domestic travelers were 8.91 million, up 6.1% year on year. Total revenue from tourists reached over 45.85 trillion VND, up 23% year on year.

The number of tourists to the capital is expected to reach 14.05 million in the first half of the year, up 13.7% year on year. Of which, foreign tourists will reach an estimated 3.14 million, up 52.6%, while domestic visitors will number 10.3 million, up 6%. Total revenue from tourists is expected to post more than 45.107 trillion VND, up 22.8%.

Regarding accommodation activities, in May 2024, the average room occupancy rate of hotels reached 64.7%, down 1.7% compared to April 2024 and up 1% year on year.

In the first half of the year, the average room occupancy rate of the hotel sector is estimated to reach 63.9%, up 2.8% year on year./.
