Hanoi links with localities to promote inter-regional tourism destinations

Speaking at the conference, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang shared that Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Kon Tum and the Mekong Delta provinces are destinations with rich and diverse cultural tourism and eco-tourism. The Mekong Delta is one of the seven key tourist regions of the country with a rich and unique system of tourism resources associated with islands, rivers, gardens and floating markets.

Over the past time, Hanoi has actively implemented many cooperative programs and activities with localities, including provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, such as famtrip, presstrip and programs of developing linked products. Through that, many travel companies in Hanoi have organized tour programs, taking tourists from the capital to the Mekong Delta region.

At the conference, Director of the Can Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Minh Tuan shared that Can Tho city has potential and favorable conditions to develop tourism, especially MICE, river tours, and cultural tourism. In the first six months of 2024, Can Tho welcomed 3.7 million visitors, an increase of 5% over the same period last year. 

At the conference, representatives of local tourism associations and travel and service businesses pointed out limitations and inadequacies, and offered suggestions to promote the connection of products and tours between businesses and localities.

Aiming to further strengthen the connection and cooperation between local management agencies in linking and building tourist routes between Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Kon Tum and the Mekong Delta provinces, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang proposed that it is necessary to regularly coordinate to organize conferences to connect tourism businesses between localities and state management agencies; strengthen popularization and promotion of unique tourism products and diversify forms of promotion through websites and social networking platforms./.
