HCM City earns some 93 trillion VND of tourism revenue in six months

The HCM City Department of Tourism has announced that the city welcomed over 17.1 million domestic tourists in the first six months of 2024, a year-on-year rise of 4.4% or 45.1% of the year’s plan. The southern hub greeted nearly 2.7 million international tourist arrivals, up 38% compared to the same period last year or 44.6% of the year’s plan

According to the City Department of Tourism, in the second half of the year, the city focuses on approving the Tourism Development Strategy until 2030, continue to implement the Smart Tourism Development Project in the city in 2021-2025; and plan to promote the event “Ho Chi Minh City welcomes you” in 2024. 

In addition, the city will focus on effectively coordinating to organize tourism activities and events, with a focus on the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE-HCMC), the City Tourism Week, and the 7th HCM City International Marathon. It will develop a plan to implement ASEAN Tourism standards towards sustainable, environmentally friendly tourism development./.
