Since the beginning of the year, the City Department of Tourism welcomed the first group of visitors to land at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on January 1 and organized the Vietnamese Tet Festival at Le Van Tam Park I District 1 from January 18 to 21.
From March 7 to 17, HCM City will hold the 10th Ao Dai Festival at President Ho Chi Minh Monument park, Nguyen Hue walking street and some tourist attractions in the city.
On April 4 to 7, the 20th edition of the HCMC Tourism Festival is scheduled to take place at the September 23 Park in District 1. The four-day event will attract more than 200 display booths of travel enterprises introducing tourism products and offering promotional programs to visitors.
This is also an opportunity for localities across the country to promote products and stimulate domestic tourism during the holidays of April 30 and May 1, as well as the peak summer of 2024.
Next, the 18th HCM City International Tourism Fair will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7, from September 5 to 7. This is an annual international tourism event aimed at enhancing cooperation and connecting five countries in the lower Mekong region, including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
The second HCMC River Festival promoting the land, people and cultural identities of Vietnam, HCMC particularly, will officially open at Saigon and Hiep Phuoc ports and several tourist spots in the city from May 31 to June 8.
The city’s tourism industry will organize the 4th HCMC Tourism Week in Thu Duc City and districts on December 1-8, and the 2024 Techcombank International Marathon on December 8-12.
According to Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the City Department of Tourism, in 2024, the city’s tourism industry will continue to promote cooperation with Vietnamese diplomatic agencies abroad, as well as international organizations such as Eurocham, the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities and the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA) to promote tourism in the southern economic hub and Vietnam to the world.
In addition, the department also cooperates with domestic and international airlines to invite travel and tourism businesses, MICE tourism, press groups and influencers (KOLs) in key and potential markets to participate in destination surveys in HCMC and other localities.
Additionally, this year, the tourism industry will promote cooperation with media agencies and international news agencies such as CNN, Discovery, BBC News, PR Newswire, VNPR and Heritage Magazine to boost tourism promotion./.
