Hue Festival Week 2024 estimated to earn 159 billion VND in tourism revenue

After nearly a week (from June 6 to 12) with a series of unique cultural and artistic activities, the Hue Festival Week 2024 attracted 19,190 international visitors, 81,810 domestic visitors, and tourism revenue is estimated at 159 billion VND, according to the Thua Thien-Hue Department of Tourism.

Of 49,000 visitors staying overnight, international visitor arrivals are estimated at 9,310 and domestic visitor arrivals are 39,690. The average occupancy rate at hotels reaches 70%.
Director of the province’s Tourism Department Nguyen Van Phuc said that the festival not only brings about opportunities for the province to attract tourists but also promotes its cultural values, landscape, and people.
The festival saw the participation of 30 art troupes from France, Belgium, Spain, Canada, Japan, China, the Republic of Korea (RoK), and Vietnam, creating a series of art performances and attractive stage space for local residents and visitors.
A representative of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue said the Hue Festival Week 2024 occurs with Da Nang International Fireworks Festival and other localities in the country organizing high-level exams, affecting the number of visitors coming to experience the Hue Festival.
However, representatives of the local tourism industry also assessed the fact that many tourists participated in activities of the Hue Festival through self-sufficient travel. Through the survey, welcoming and serving tourists and ensuring security and safety at tourist destinations and good accommodation facilities brought satisfying experiences to tourists./.
