The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 3.2 million international visitors in the first eight months of 2024, 2.6 times higher than the same period last year, exceeding the year’s set plan by 6.7%.

According to Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, the number of tourists to the province in the eight months is estimated at 8 million, a year-on-year increase of 61.1%, reaching 88.9% of the plan. Of which, international tourist arrivals reached an estimated 3.2 million, up by 2.6 times, and domestic tourists numbered 4.8 million, up by 29.1%.
Total revenue from tourists is estimated at more than 39.5 trillion VND, a year-on-year rise of 65.3%, reaching 98.5% of the annual plan.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that the spectacular tourism growth in recent months came from significant contribution from innovation in tourism promotion. This helped the locality soon complete the set target of welcoming over nine million overnight tourists in 2024, including three million international visitors. Total revenue from tourism for the whole year is 40,100 billion VND.
Since the beginning of the year, Khanh Hoa has organized many tourism promotion programs in key and potential international markets such as China, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan and Thailand. It also coordinated with the aviation industry to reopen international flights.
At the same time, the province proactively invited international Famtrip delegations from the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand and Indonesia to survey and learn about local tourism products.
On-site promotion through cultural, entertainment, sports and tourism events helps create a brand and position the destination in the hearts of tourists, added Thanh./.
