The above information was given by Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, at a conference to connect businesses from Khanh Hoa and China, held on December 11.
According to Mr. Hoang, China is the second largest international tourist market of Khanh Hoa, after the Republic of Korea. In the first ten months of 2024, there were nearly 500 flights from China to Cam Ranh airport. This year, the province expects to welcome 750,000 Chinese visitors.
According to a report from the Department of Tourism, in 2023, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 283,000 Chinese visitors. At the end of 2024, although the number of visitors from the billion-person market tends to increase compared to 2023, it is still much lower than before the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2019, the central locality received more than 2.5 million Chinese visitors, accounting for more than 70% of international visitors. During this period, China was the largest market for Khanh Hoa tourism.
Mr. Wei Huaxiang, Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, shared that after the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese localities and Khanh Hoa have coordinated to accelerate the recovery of tourism activities such as organizing a conference to connect tourism cooperation in Shanghai and Chengdu (China). Commercial flights and charter flights between Khanh Hoa and Chinese provinces and cities are also increasing.
According to the Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, and Khanh Hoa hopes that Chinese enterprises will continue to pay attention to promoting business cooperation, economic development, including tourism development between the two sides in the coming time./.
