The Ministry of Transport in coordination with the Lam Dong People’s Committee has announced Lien Khuong Airport as the first international airport in the Central Highlands region.
Lien Khuong Airport became the first international airport in the Central Highlands.

Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan said that the airport’s runway, which is 3,250 metres long and 45 metres wide, can handle Code D planes like the Airbus A300, the Boeing B757, and equivalents.

The aviation industry has made efforts to connect, build and upgrade many airports across the country, including Lien Khuong Airport. This airport creates potential and driving force for economic and tourism development in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, increasing connectivity in the region.

A representative of Jeju Air (the Republic of Korea) said that each week, the carrier transports about 2,000 Korean passengers to Da Lat.

“We want tourists to know about Da Lat and experience the cool air here. I believe tourists from the Republic of Korea will find wonderful experiences here,” he added.

Lien Khuong Airport is located in Lien Nghia town, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong. Its construction began in 1933 and it was the second largest international airport in Southern Vietnam in 1961. After being upgraded and expanded many times, Lien Khuong Airport now can handle five million passengers and 20,000 tons of cargo a year./.
