Ahmad Faiez Mohamed Pisal, Managing Director of Michelin Vietnam, said that the Southeast Asian nation has been known to the world for its history and interesting culinary traditions. In particular, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City deserve to be honored for the uniqueness of street food as well as the quintessence of luxury restaurants.
Michelin’s evaluation categories are based on 5 principles: Quality of ingredients; skillful cooking techniques; harmony in taste; performance of the unique personality of chef; and stable quality over time of the dishes.
Michelin is also very concerned with service quality and is willing to exclude restaurants that do not have good service, no matter how delicious the food.
In his remarks, Sun Group's Chairman of the Board, Dang Minh Truong, said: Over the past 15 years, to accompany the development of Vietnam’s tourism, Sun Group has always strived to bring the world's quintessence to Vietnam. Today, with the Michelin Guide to Vietnam launch, we want Vietnam to be known as a destination with beautiful nature, magnificent resorts and entertainment complexes, and as a world-class culinary destination with Michelin-starred restaurants.”
After Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Michelin will continue to expand the scope of food quality assessment in other provinces and cities./.
