On August 27, Agoda’s Ranking revealed that 75% of Vietnamese tourists often choose to return to their favorite tourist destinations.
Compiled from searches on the Agoda platform earlier this month, the Ranking shows that not only Thailand, but also Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore and China are destinations that Vietnamese tourists choose to return to many times.
Data from tourists who have just booked trips show that about 47% of Vietnamese tourists want to spend time exploring during their upcoming trip. Meanwhile, 39% prefer “culinary” experiences and 26% said they look forward to experiencing “culture and art”.
As many as 64% of tourists have returned to their favorite destinations from one to three times over the past 10 years. Notably, about 8% of tourists have returned to their favorite countries more than 10 times.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda Vietnam, shared that while some tourists like to explore new tourist destinations around the world, some groups want to return to their favorite countries.
According to the ranking, Vietnamese tourists return to Thailand, Japan and the Republic of Korea not only because these are interesting destinations but because of the memorable experiences they find there.
When being asked about the factors attracting Vietnamese tourists to return, the majority said that “convenience in transportation” (50%) is the top factor, followed by “local cuisine” (47%) and “convenient location” (34%). In addition, factors such as “safety and cleanliness” and “previous interesting experiences” also contribute significantly to tourists’ decision to return./.
