Lesung (Batu Lesung) means a pestle and mortar, which serves high quality traditional Malaysian dishes in accordance with family style, with a carefully selected menu.

Consul General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Firdauz Othman shared: “Through pioneering activities and diverse events, including the collaboration with Lesung Restaurant - Authentic Malaysian Cuisine, we always keep the goal of promoting, conveying and provoking curiosity to explore Malaysian culture.”

“We look forward to increasing understanding and cultural exchange between Malaysia and Vietnam. Through the brilliant picture of Malaysian culture, including its vibrant cuisine, we hope that many Vietnamese people will be interested in and explore Malaysia more,” he added.

According to Ms. Nor Hayati Zainuddin, Director of the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Department in Ho Chi Minh City, with tourism promotion activities in many countries, in 2023, Malaysia attracted nearly 30 million international visitors, majority of which came from Southeast Asia.

Particularly for the Vietnamese market, there are nearly 160 direct flights from Vietnam to Malaysia every week. Therefore, the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Department expects the country will greet 400,000 visitor arrivals from Vietnam in 2024./.
