Ninh Thuan hits full-year target of 3.2 million tourists in September

The South Central Coastal province of Ninh Thuan greeted 3.2 million tourists in the first nine months of 2024, a year-on-year increase of 20%, all finishing the year’s target, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Of which, the number of tourists staying overnight is estimated at 2.3 million. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 3,662 billion VND.

The majority of tourists to Ninh Thuan were domestic visitors with more than 3.11 million, while international tourists numbered 87,000, a year-on-year rise of 194%, fulfilling 87% of the year’s plan.

Ninh Thuan aims to welcome 3.2 million visitors in 2024, of which 100,000 are international visitors. The province continues to develop the traditional international markets of Russia and Eastern Europe in the near future; focus on attracting tourists from the Republic of Korea, China and India; target high-end customers of existing markets and develop new markets with new tourism products.

In addition, the locality is also promoting linkages and cooperation in tourism development with airlines; provinces and cities to build attractive programs, tours and tourist routes.

In December 2024, the sixth Cham Cultural Festival chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provincial People’s Committee, in coordination with provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan, An Giang, Tay Ninh, Quang Nam, Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City will take place in Ninh Thuan.

The event is expected to offer opportunities for the Cham people to introduce their unique and characteristic cultural features. Nearly 500 artisans, artists and athletes from Cham ethnic groups from nine provinces and cities will participate in the festival.

Currently, Ninh Thuan has 213 tourist accommodation establishments with more than 4,700 rooms. The authorities regularly issue instructions to ensure tourism security, including requiring tourism businesses to focus on ensuring food hygiene and safety, fire prevention, and selling at the correct listed price, contributing to building a safe, friendly and attractive tourism environment./.
