Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has signed a decision to establish the Organizing Committee for the International Conference on Rural Tourism of UN.

Accordingly, the Organizing Committee consists of 19 members, with Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong as Head of the Committee and Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu as Co-Head of the Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, is Deputy Head.
The Organizing Committee is responsible for organizing the UN International Conference on Rural Tourism according to the plan approved in Decision 4810/QD-BVHTTDL dated November 1, 2024 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The UN International Conference on Rural Tourism in Quang Nam will take place from December 7 to 12, 2024 at Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An.
The conference will include an array of activities such as building a space to introduce culture and tourism and organizing the 2nd annual meeting of the UN Best Tourism Village Network.
The event aims to create a forum to discuss issues and initiatives related to rural tourism development to diversify tourism products, create livelihoods for local people, and solve the problem of tourist overload in urban tourism centers.
It will also promote and communicate the image of Vietnam’s destinations, increase brand awareness for Vietnam tourism and enhance close and effective cooperation between Vietnam tourism and UN Tourism./.
