According to the City Department of Tourism, in the first nine months of 2024, international visitor arrivals to the city are estimated at 4.014 million, up 12.4% year on year, reaching 66.9% of the 2024 plan; domestic tourist arrivals numbered 27.353 million, up 1.3% year on year, reaching 72% of the year’s plan.
The city’s tourism industry is actively promoting cultural and historical tourism products, waterway tourism, medical tourism, MICE tourism, improving the quality of culinary services, contributing to increasing the attractiveness of the city’s destinations.
In addition, tourism information activities have been enhanced to promote the image of HCM City tourism with the emphasis on promoting the application of information technology, bringing tourism activities to online platforms.
In addition, the organization of cultural tourism events has created highlights, such as: Ao Dai Festival, HCM City Tourism Festival and River Festival. The events attracted many domestic and international visitors; thereby stimulating the demand of domestic tourism, contributing to promoting the development of the city’s tourism.
In the last three months of the year, the city’s tourism industry continues to promote cooperation and linkage in tourism development with provinces and cities to exploit the competitive advantages of each locality to create linked tourism products.
The southern city strives to achieve the year’s target of welcoming six million international visitors, 38 million domestic visitors, with total tourism revenue estimated at 190,000 billion VND./.
