On the occasion of Tet this year, Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) plans to open ticket sales earlier than previously. After the official sale on October 6, many passengers quickly bought Tet tickets.
There are already very few train tickets left for the Saigon - Hanoi route. Tickets for 6-bed compartments cost an average of 2.5-2.8 million VND a ticket; tickets for 4-bed compartments cost about 3.2 million VND a ticket.
According to VNR statistics, 24 hours after opening for sale, more than 43,000 tickets were sold, with revenue reaching nearly 77 billion VND. VNR said that thanks to innovations in booking and payment methods, passengers with real needs will be able to quickly access and buy tickets, limiting the situation of virtual reservations and ticket speculation.
The number of customers buying tickets online has increased sharply, without network congestion. For individual tickets, each passenger can buy a maximum of 20 return tickets.
The 2025 Tet train schedule is expected to last from January 15, 2025 to February 16, 2025, with 22 pairs of trains operating each day, including nine long-distance trains running on the Saigon – Hanoi route and 13 pairs of trains for shorter distances./.
