Passengers to Dien Bien Airport surge during victory celebration

Dien Bien Airport in Dien Bien Phu City, the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien, greeted and served more than 12,000 passengers during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7), many times higher than normal.
According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), from May 1 to 9, the airport handled 98 civil and 26 military flights.

Aiming to ensure operational capacity and service quality, Dien Bien Airport has proactively developed a plan to serve all activities during peak periods and strengthened coordination with airlines and other units to survey and assess the demand of using services, arrange to strengthen all forces, and flexible adjustment of plans.
The airport applied strengthened security measures from April 27 until May 12, while ensuring good passenger services.
Dien Bien has so far greeted more than 1 million tourists, including 4,800 foreigners. Total revenue from tourism activities has reached nearly 1.9 trillion VND (74.65 million USD)./.
