The Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee on April 16 announced a demand stimulus program to attract tourists in 2024 with the participation of more than 100 businesses.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, said that the program will take place from May to November with two phases: the first, themed “Quang Nam - Summer Emotions”, from May to August 2024 and the second phase, themed “Golden Season of Quang Nam”, from September to the end of November 2024.
The stimulus program is implemented by the Quang Nam tourism business community and sold directly to tourists, Hong said. Its products are combo packages with incentives from room rates, food service, attractions, and transportation units with discounts of 20-50% or deep discounts up to 80% during happy hours.
Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that in 2024, Quang Nam aims to welcome 7.6 million tourist arrivals. Leaders of the province called on the business community to join in responding to the stimulus program to attract tourists.
Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Authority, said that the tourism stimulus targets new products; creating connections between tourism businesses as well as current types of tourism.
In 2023, the number of tourists to Quang Nam reached more than 7.4 million, an increase of 1.6 times against 2022 or equivalent to 97% of 2019. The number included more than 3.8 million international tourists and over 3.6 million domestic tourists. Tourism revenue in 2023 reached nearly 8 trillion VND, a two-fold increase against 2022./.
