Ha Long International Cruise Port on September 30 received the Italian-flagged Costa Serena cruise ship, carrying nearly 3,000 foreign passengers and over 1,000 crew members.

The super cruise ship has docked in Vietnam many times, but this is the first time it came to Ha Long. It is considered one of the largest international cruise ships to visit the city this year.
The passengers aboard primarily hail from Chinese-speaking countries and regions.
As scheduled, Costa Serena is scheduled to depart at 6 pm on the same day, and is expected to return for more visits on October 14, October 18, November 4 and November 8.
According to the municipal Department of Tourism, in 2024, Ha Long is expected to welcome about 60-70 cruise ships, carrying about 70,000 visitors, of which the end of the year is the peak time to welcome the visitors.
At the end of the year, Ha Long is the destination of many international visitors. In particular, cruise tourists are on the way to recovery. Normally, according to the schedule, cruise tourism to Ha Long runs from November until April.
The 2024 cruise tourism season started with a positive signal: the return of many luxury, familiar customers like Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Azamara, and Mein Schiff. The cruise ships brought thousands of guests from the United States, Canada, England and Australia to Ha Long from January to April./.
