Thua Thien-Hue organizes numerous activities to celebrate National Day

During the five-day holiday, about 120,000 visitors are forecast to visit Thua Thien-Hue, a year-on-year increase of 22.4%. Revenue from services and tourism is estimated at VND132 billion. The number of overnight tourists is forecast to reach 48,000; a year-on-year increase of 31.3%; of which about 16,500 are international visitors, an increase of 54.3%. The average occupancy rate at hotels is about 64%.

On August 31 and September 1, the occupancy rate of many accommodation establishments in the province reached over 80%. Most hotels in the center of Hue city, coastal resorts, lagoons and waterfalls, and homestays in Phu Loc and A Luoi districts nearly reach maximum occupancy.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Vietnam Railways Corporation has offered a policy of reducing ticket prices for groups and individual tourists, so the number of tourists traveling by train to and from Hue is forecast to increase sharply. Tourists who tend to travel in family groups by private cars and trains often prefer to rest and experience local culture and nature.

In Thua Thien-Hue, tourists will have chances to experience and participate in recreational activities such as the Hue Jogging Program - Running together for the community on September 1 at the provincial Administrative Urban Area Square; Traditional boat race on the morning of September 2 on the poetic Huong River and art performances at Pedestrian streets inside the Imperial City.

Vietnamese tourists and locals will be offered free entrance when visiting Hue’s historical sites on September 2.

On this occasion, Phu Bai International Airport plans to welcome 330 incoming and outgoing flights, transporting about 59,400 passengers. Vietnam Railways Corporation also plans to welcome about 13,000 passengers to and from Hue station./.
