Vietnam Airlines has coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in India and partners to open the Vietnam Tourism Information Center in India in the presence of Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai. India is a strategic partner and one of the highest potential markets in the South Asian region in Vietnam.

The capacity of the Vietnam-India air transport market reached 900,000 passengers in 2023, nearly 3 times higher than the same period in 2019. From May 15, Vietnam Airlines will operate four flights a week on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday between Hanoi and Delhi; and three flights, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, between Ho Chi Minh City and Delhi, using Airbus A350 wide-body aircraft.

The operation of wide-body Airbus A350 aircraft on the route between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Delhi marks a new step in Vietnam Airlines’ efforts to improve service quality and better serve the needs of customers.

Since opening direct flights, Vietnam Airlines has operated more than 1,600 flights and served more than 240,000 passengers on flights to and from India. In particular, the seat utilization ratio is expected to reach nearly 80% in 2024, 1.5 times higher than in 2022.

Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai spoke at the event.

“The opening of the Vietnam Tourism Information Center in India will create a bridge for tourism development, as well as contribute to strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. The center's biggest goal is to effectively exploit the Indian tourism market, attracting an increasing number of tourists to choose Vietnam as their destination,” Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai assessed./.
