International visitor arrivals in Vietnam reached 1.42 million in October, a year-on-year rise of 27.6%, according to the latest figures of the General Statistics Office (GSO).
In the first ten months of 2024, international visitors to the country posted more than 14.1 million, a year-on-year increase of 41.3%.

Of the total international visitor arrivals to Vietnam, visitors arriving by air reached nearly 12 million, accounting for 84.8% and a year-on-year rise of 36.9%, while those arriving by road reached nearly 2 million, accounting for 14% and a year-on-year increase of 65.7%, and those by sea posted 189,100 arrivals, accounting for 1.3% and a year-on-year rise of 172.3%.
Revenue from accommodation and catering services in the ten months was estimated at 602,300 billion VND, accounting for 11.5% of the total and increasing by 12.5% year on year.
Meanwhile, revenue from tourism and travel in the ten months reached an estimated 50.3 trillion VND, accounting for 0.9% of the total and rising by 14.2% year on year. Some localities enjoyed rises in tourism and travel revenue, including Can Tho, 31.2%; Ho Chi Minh City, 15.9%; Khanh Hoa, 15.4%; Binh Dinh, 11.9%; Hanoi, 9.8% and Da Nang, 6.1%.
Favorable visa policies, tourism promotion and advertising programs have been promoted, along with prestigious tourism awards presented by international organizations that have helped attract more and more international visitors to Vietnam./.
