First Son La mango consignment to be shipped to Australia

The Plant Protection Department has coordinated with Hanoi Irradiation Centre to irradiate 3.5 tons of green elephant-mango of Son La province to ship to Australia for the first time.

This type of mango, which is crispy and delicious, is very suitable for Australian tastes and for processing in the market.

Aiming to satisfy the requirements for exporting to the market, the Plant Protection Department associated with the Son La Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to train farmers, make documents and grant codes to two growing areas in Van Lung village, Chieng Hac commune, Yen Chau district and Noong Xom village, Hat Lot commune, Mai Son district.

The shipment of mango is priced at VND22.000 per kilogram, much higher than the market price of VND16,000 per kilogram. With this rate, farmers will benefit 15-20%./.
