With economic growth of about 10.2%, the northern province of Quang Ninh has exceeded its set target and achieved a higher rate than the country’s average.

As reported by Chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long at the seventh session of the 13th provincial People’s Council, economic activities in 2017 showed significant changes, especially rapid development of service sector, with the highest growth of 14.7%.
One of the most impressive results of the locality in 2017 is budget collection which is estimated at VND38.1 trillion, up 19.8% from the estimate. Of this, domestic collection reaches VND27.6 trillion, up 4.5% from the estimates and up 10% from the implemented figure of 2016, accounting for 73.4% of the total. Collection from exports and imports is estimated at VND10.5 trillion, 194.1% of the estimate.
Aiming to achieve the result, Mr. Long affirmed the locality gave drastic directions and had specific scenarios for growth of every sector and field, especially solutions to improve the quality and density of services.
The provincial People’s Committee flexibly directed budget revenue and expense by specific solutions, ensuring the completion or excess over the estimates assigned by the People’s Council.
Numerous infrastructure projects, especially those in transport, technique, economic zones and industrial zones, were guided to speed up site clearance and construction schedule to soon be put into operation, such as: road connecting Ha Long city with Hai Phong city, Bach Dang bridge and intersection, Ha Long - Van Don highway, Cam Hai - Van Don highway, upgrade of national highway 18A and Van Don international airport./.
