4G LTE-based video calls demonstrated reliable quality and high speed.
It is the fourth telecom operator in Myanmar, which is a joint venture between Myanmar and Vietnam. Earlier, as part of its effort for transparency in the country’s reforms and development tasks to meet the growing population and suggestions of scholars, two foreign operators, Ooredoo Myanmar Ltd and Telenor Myanmar Ltd, and two local operators, MPT and KDDI Summit Global Myanmar Company Ltd, have been allowed to offer telecom services.

Mytel got nationwide telecom license on January 12th, last year. Formed with 51% of shares owned by 11 public groups on the Myanmar side, the Company has finished 70% of its expected network and is projected to provide services within the first three months of this year.
It targets to install a total of 7,000 BTSs, and around 30,000 km of fiber optic cable, while having international connections via five in-land and under-sea fiber optic cable systems.
Mytel’s investment has reached about USD1 billion (MMK1.34 trillion) including license fees. Apart from 2G voice-call service, it also provides mobile Internet based on 4G LTE fourth-generation wireless broadband technology that supports extremely fast access to the Internet for 4G LTE devices. In the first quarter of this year, Mytel will provide nationwide telecom services including mobile, fixed line, value added, content, electronic wallet and other ICT solutions, towards potential clients from business, education, healthcare, and E-Government sectors, thus utilizing technology for the improvement of the people’s lives./.
