Hai Duong to host first litchi festival

The event is expected to facilitate local enterprises, individuals and traders to boost trade promotion and promote the quality and trademark of Thanh Ha litchi; stimulating domestic demand and speeding up exports.

In addition, it will create opportunities for local farmers to connect with supermarkets as well as processing and export firms, while facilitating the signing of contracts and memorandum of understanding on the consumption of litchi and other agricultural products.

A wide range of activities will be held including tours to the ancient litchi tree in Thuy Lam village in Thanh Son commune; visits to VietGAP litchi gardens; and boat tours to litchi orchards along Huong river, among others.

The festival is also a chance to introduce the potential, advantages and incentives of Hai Duong to attract investment in agriculture and tourism; gradually building the value chain for litchi, key agricultural products and tourism products toward sustainability./.
