Quang Ninh province and the Czech town of Karlovy Vary on June 11th signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in five potential fields: industry, tourism, health care, education-training and human resources.
The signing ceremony
Mr. Nguyen Duc Long, Chairman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee, stressed that the signing of the deal showed the efforts of both sides after the working visit of the senior Vietnamese delegation, led by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in 2017.
With the potential and same advantages in coal mining, mineral water and tourism development, he wished through his visit and exchanges with the Karlovy Vary government, Quang Ninh would learn from its experience, especially in developing high-end recreation.
In the short term, the two sides will focus on cooperation in tourism to attract more tourists from European countries, especially the Czech Republic.
The highway connecting Hanoi, Hai Phong and Ha Long will be soon open to traffic, expecting to reduce travel time from Hanoi to Quang Ninh to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Van Don international airport’s operation in October 2018 will also open more opportunities to bring more foreign tourists to the northern locality.
Mr. Long said Quang Ninh and Karlovy Vary should propose the two governments and airlines to open direct air routes from Vietnam to Czech and vice versa.
Meanwhile, Karlovy Vary is ready to exchange their experiences in tourism for the common development goal of both sides. The town hoped that Quang Ninh would pay attention to speeding up special cooperation in the exchange of laborers between the two localities./.
