The HCMC People’s Committee has officially approved the fare structure for Metro Line 1. Ticket prices for cash payments range from 7,000 VND to 20,000 VND, while non-cash payments are slightly discounted, ranging from 6,000 VND to 19,000 VND.

For unlimited rides, day passes are priced at 40,000 VND, while 3-day passes cost 90,000 VND. Monthly passes are available for 300,000 VND for general passengers and 150,000 VND for students.

To encourage public use, Ho Chi Minh City will offer free rides during the first month of operations, allocating a budget of 15.7 billion VND for this initiative. Additionally, the city will provide 17.3 billion VND in subsidies for 17 bus routes connecting to Metro Line 1.

Long-term plans include an annual budget of 32.6 billion VND to subsidize fares for specific groups, including those eligible for social policy benefits.
